Michelle's Story
(Owner)
Michelle was in her mid forties when she decided to go back to school to become an esthetician. After completing her esthetics training she decided to train to be an instructor. At the time she was also working as an esthetician. However being an educator has been her true passion. Her legacy, is all of her former students that go on to be successful professionals. Michelle then went on to become a school director until she took the obvious next step which was opening her own esthetics school. After working in the industry for many years now she has learned what students are truly looking for in an esthetics school. "I believe we have built the perfect school and set up a very incredible curriculum to produce the highest quality graduates."- says Michelle
Noemi's Story
Noemi has been a Medical Aesthetician and Massage Therapist for 7+ years. Working mainly in a medical setting performing laser and other advanced skin procedures, pre-and post-op skin treatments, and working closely with local cancer centers. Along with skin, she loves holistic health and wellness. She has a Bachelor's in Integrative Health Sciences with a major in Herbal Medicine.
Knowing how the skin and body works, and the science behind it, is her favorite. She also enjoys how rewarding it is to help individuals get to their best skin & self, that is what she says makes Esthetics amazing. Encouraging and mentoring the future of the skincare industry is something she loves being a part of as an instructor.
Lucrezia's Story
As a trained makeup artist from Milan, Italy, she is a passionate beauty expert. She has assisted a famous makeup artist for several years, worked with many wedding planners, and for more than 8 years has built a portfolio while growing her expertise in celebrity, editorial, and bridal looks.
Not only is she passionate about creating beautiful looks for her clients, but in the United States she has also found a new passion in teaching makeup artistry at any level. She holds a makeup instructor certification from Makeup Designory LA and is currently an educator for the cosmetic company Mirabella.
Hannah's Story
Hannah has been an educator for 11 years and an Esthetician for over 15 years. She has had many years of extensive training in esthetics and education. She strives to teach everything she knows, and more! She wants to share everything she has learned, and she loves learning more along the way.
Hannah absolutely loves the students and has the utmost desire to see them succeed and be as successful as they can be. Watching them grow and find what their passion is in this industry is what keeps Hannah going as an educator, and she is honored to play a part in that journey for them. Education has been a major passion for Hannah for many years and she just loves this industry. "We are all very lucky to be able to help clients heal their skin and help with other needs, I wouldn't trade it for anything!"
Molly's Story
Education has always been a passion of mine because I'm always asking "Why" and "How"?
I've been in the beauty industry since 2012, I love helping people feel beautiful inside and out. Skin care has always been close to my heart because for years I've struggled with Cystic Acne and extremely oily skin.

The beauty industry has been such a rewarding path for me and I love being a foundation for others' futures. When I am not at work, I love hanging out with my family and two dogs. You will always catch me laughing at Marvel movies.
Monica's Story
Monica is a licensed esthetician specializing in lash and brow services. She is the owner of 'Aligned Element', an esthetics business in downtown Overland Park.
Monica’s techniques are favorable to each individual client, with a natural & holistic approach. She has a passion for empowering and educating others on their own esthetics path.
April's Story
April Eve is a licensed Esthetician of 13 years. She is also a certified Reiki Master Practitioner and teacher. She works with multiple modalities which include Usui Reiki, native smudging techniques, sound therapy, crystal healing and Oracle cards. She also works closely with the Angels.
April loves to create magical reiki infused healing candles and products. Her passion goes far deeper than surface level. She finds great joy in helping others love themselves and heal from the inside out.
When April found Reiki she fell deeply passionate about helping others discover the power of healing themselves. Reiki has changed her personal and professional life in so many good ways and she loves sharing this with others. She creates a safe sacred space for you to relax and let go. Helping you tune into your inner self and inner beauty.
Allie's Story
Hello! I’m so excited to begin teaching makeup at 'The Skn Academy'! I started my makeup journey in 2021 during esthetic school and fell in love with it. Since picking up my first set of makeup brushes, I haven’t stopped learning and growing as an artist.
Makeup has brought so many amazing opportunities, experiences, and people into my life and I can’t wait to share my love of makeup with all of you!
Dominique's Story
Out of high school, I always wanted to be a teacher. Starting small by teaching pre-K students for 4 years helped build my passion for a career in education. I began my journey in the beauty industry by doing makeup for KC Fashion Week as a volunteer makeup artist and instantly fell in love with the beauty side of esthetics.
I then pursued doing makeup for friends’ weddings, maternity shoots, and Kansas streetwear photoshoots. After witnessing how makeup can express oneself, I delved into learning how to prep the skin for makeup application, leading me into the realm of skincare. After educating myself on skincare, I applied for esthetics school in June 2022. Throughout my time in school, I discovered that I could combine my love for holistic practices with skincare to help clients heal internally and achieve their skincare goals through reiki and sound frequencies. I encountered reiki during covid, a time when the world turned upside down. Through reiki and yoga, I learned more about myself, healing frequencies/energy, and chakras. These practices taught me that you can not only heal yourself but also others.
I graduated esthetics school with seven certifications, including my license and a Reiki Level One certification. I am very excited to be a part of 'The Skn Academy' team, combining my love for teaching with my passion for skincare to help students achieve their dream career.
Teresa's Story
Ever since I was little I have always been creative and artistic. A girly-girl for sure. It only makes sense that that is why I am drawn to esthetics and makeup.

My name is Teresa Hummell and I am incredibly excited to be a part of a wonderful group of women and share in their goal of helping students learn and grow to be wonderful estheticians and/or makeup artists. It is incredibly satisfying to be a part of an industry whose only goal is to help every woman see their own beauty and feel good about themselves.

My own daughter (Maddie) is an esthetician and I love that for her! I also have a son (Nathan) who is starting his first year at Avila University working towards a BFA in Acting. My husband (Dan) and I were born and raised in Johnson County, and we have been married for 27 years.

Three fun skin/makeup facts about me: I love a good lip liner, adore a great lip gloss and cannot express enough how important water and a great hydrating eye cream/ moisturizer can be!
