Medications & Treatment Considerations
This page outlines critical pre-treatment guidelines, including medication and procedure considerations, necessary for safe and effective spa services. If in doubt, it is always recommended to consult your personal physician before receiving spa services.
Medications Limiting Facial Services

-
Topical Retinoids/Retinol (Retin-A, Tretinoin): Discontinue 7 days before facials, waxing, or peels to avoid skin lifting/irritation.
-
Antibiotics (Doxycycline, Tetracycline): Increases photosensitivity; avoid light-based therapies (IPL, laser).
-
Blood Thinners/Anticoagulants: May cause bruising; advise caution with intense massage or microneedling.
Procedures & Necessary Waiting Times

Botox/Neuromodulators: Wait 72 hours before getting a facial or facial massage to prevent product migration.
-
Dermal Fillers: Wait 7 days for treatments around the injection area.

-
Chemical Peels & Microneedling: Wait 14–21 days.
-
Facial Surgeries (Facelift, Rhinoplasty): Wait at least 3 months, or until cleared by a doctor.
-
Waxing/Hair Removal: Wait 48 hours to a week.
